The cleaning method of gypsum board should be selected according to the surface type (ordinary or perforated) and the stain situation. Specifically, it can be divided into daily dust removal, deep cleaning, and special stain treatment:
1、 Daily cleaning methods
Surface of ordinary gypsum board
Use a feather duster or a slightly damp soft cloth to gently sweep the surface dust, avoiding excessive wiping that may cause wear on the gypsum board.
If there are slight stains on the surface, you can use diluted all-purpose cleaner (ratio 1:40) to wipe it locally, and then wipe it clean with a clean cloth.
Perforated gypsum board
Due to the tendency of dust accumulation in the holes, it is recommended to use a vacuum cleaner with a flat nozzle to vertically absorb the dust inside the holes from the front, and then tilt the edges of the holes to clean them.
2、 Stubborn stain treatment
Oil stains or aged stains
Using boiled milk or warm water dipped in a damp cloth to wipe can effectively remove common stains.
Severe stains can be wiped with a mixture of soap water, turpentine, and ammonia water in a ratio of 10:2:1, and then cleaned with clean water.
Kitchen gypsum board oil stains can be neutralized with flour first, and then gently scraped and cleaned with a scraper.
Moisture and yellowing repair
After cleaning and drying, first apply waterproof primer to isolate moisture, and then use anti mold latex paint to cover the yellowing area layer by layer.
3、 Precautions
Avoid using large amounts of water to rinse and prevent gypsum board from absorbing water and deforming.
Maintain ventilation and dryness after cleaning to reduce the risk of secondary pollution.
For complex stains or structural damage, it is recommended to contact a professional decoration company for handling.
